Cobalt delivers powerful, consistent broad-spectrum insect control. Other insects controlled by Delegate include Oriental fruit moth, leafrollers, leafminers, thrips, tufted apple bud moth, pear psylla, cherry fruit fly, green fruitworm, peach twig borer and more, with suppression of apple maggot, plum curculio and citrus psylla. Delegate WG insecticide provides a short re-entry interval, which allows growers to make early season insect sprays without delaying other important tasks. Beleaf insecticide, with a unique mode of action, specifically targets key piercing and sucking pests that damage fruit and vegetable plants, helping improve crop yield and quality. With no known cross-resistance with other insecticides, Beleaf is an integral part of insect resistance management programs. Beleaf is active on the A-Type Potassium Channel of the nervous system, and can stop insect feeding in as little as 30 minutes after exposure. While tough on key pests, including aphids, tarnished plant bugs, western plant bugs and leafhoppers, Beleaf is soft on beneficial insects, such as bees and predator mites. Applied by ground or air, Beleaf can be tank mixed with other insecticides and used anytime during the crop season, including flowering.

Capture LFR insecticide, with the liquid-ready formula, helps get corn off to a quick start to improve overall stands and yields. The new formula tank mixes easily with liquid pop-up fertilizers and stays suspended in solution for even distribution through various spray systems, including the LiquidReady system. Capture LFR helps control a variety of pests, including seed and seedling pests, wireworms, cutworms, grubs, armyworms, seed corn maggots, common stalk borers and corn rootworms. The unique mode of action causes quick knockdown of tough insects. For corn and vegetable crops, Capture LFR can be applied in-furrow, at-plant or tank mixed with starter fertilizers or water. In potatoes, lay-by applications complement in-furrow applications to provide longer wireworm control.

New Hero insecticide, with dual-action technology, delivers faster knockdown and longer residual control for a one-two punch against tough foliar pests. Approved for use in corn, cotton and a variety of vegetables, Hero controls a broad spectrum of pests, including mites, bean leaf beetle, fall armyworm, cabbage looper, corn rootworm, Western bean cutworm, Japanese beetles, corn borers, aphids, thrips and others. With state-of-the-art pyrethroid technology, Hero is an important plant protection tool to help maximize yield and crop quality, resulting in increased profits. Fast knockdown allows growers to stop pest damage early on and longer residual control helps reduce the number of trips through the field. Hero carries a “Caution” signal word, and has a 12-hour re-entry interval.

Application Rate: 1.28 to 4.0 ounces per acre. Hay and forage producers now have a new option for control of a variety of insect pests in pasture and rangeland.

Mustang Max insecticide is now labeled for use on pasture and range grasses, making it the first pyrethroid federally registered for insect control in pasture and rangeland. With a zero-day post-harvest interval, Mustang Max allows producers to use rotational grazing, including wheat to pasture, to get the most out of every acre. Mustang Max is labeled for control of both true and fall armyworms, and grasshoppers in mixed and solid grass pastures as well as other crops, including alfalfa, wheat, corn, cotton, grain sorghum, pecans and soybeans.

Supplemental label gives ABBA insecticide/miticide full label parity to branded formulations of abamectin. 24C registration broadens the use of ABBA in avocados, fruiting vegetables, including tomatoes and peppers, leafy vegetable crops including lettuce, spinach and celery, dried and fresh plums and select herb and mint crops.

Application Rate: Pome fruit: 2-3 pounds per acre, minimum 7 days between applications. 14 day re-entry interval. PHI: 14 days up to 1 pound per acre, 21 days for rates greater than 1 pound per acre. Limited to yearly maximum application rate of 6 pounds per acre in 2008. Cherries: 1.5 pounds per acre, minimum 14 days between applications.Yearly maximum application rate of 3 pounds per acre in 2008. PHI in cherries is 15 days. Almonds: 3-4 pounds per acre during June, July or August only, limited to one application per year of 4 pounds per acre. 30 day PHI.

MANA’s acquisition of Guthion means it will remain available until Sept. 30, 2012, to provide in-season, broad-spectrum control of major insects in pome fruit and until Nov. 2009 in almonds. Its primary use is on apples and pears as an important tool to control codling moth, apple maggot and oriental fruit moth. MANA will present applicator stewardship outreach program to train applicators on the proper use and handling of Guthion.

Montana has a broad imidacloprid label as a 2F formulation (2 pounds active per gallon). Montana’s label contains applications for the 1.6 F formulation so it can be applied as a foliar treatment as well as the root zone depending on the crop.

Brand Name: Centric (Label Change)
Active Ingredient: Thiamethoxam
Crop Designation: Cotton.
Application Practice: Centric is recommended post-emergence in cotton from the squaring stage through flowering.
Application Rate: Application rates range from 1.25 to 2.0 ounces. per acre.

The maximum use rate per application for Centric insecticide has increased for several insects, including plant bugs (1.25 to 2.5 ounces per acre), cotton fleahoppers (1.25 to 2.5 ounces per acre) and whiteflies (2.0 to 2.5 ounces per acre). The maximum seasonal use rate of Centric, which provides both Bt and conventional cotton growers with fast-acting, longer-lasting control of a broad range of sucking and chewing pests, also has increased from 4.0 to 5.0 oz. per acre.

Active Ingredient: Lambda-cyhalothrin and Thiamethoxam Crop Designation: Cotton.
Application Practice: The ideal use window for Endigo in cotton is post-emergence from full bloom to cutout.
Application Rate: Application rates range from 3.5 to 5.5 ounces per acre.

New for the cotton market is Endigo insecticide, which combines the proven performance of lambda-cyhalothrin and thiamethoxam. Endigo provides effective knockdown and residual control of key mid- to late-season cotton pests, including tarnished plant bugs, clouded plant bugs, cotton fleahoppers, stink bugs, worms and whiteflies. The ideal use window is from full bloom to cutout, and the application rates range from 3.5 to 5.5 ounces per acre. Endigo provides an excellent rotational option to organophosphates and carbamates. It is imperative that growers practice sound resistance management strategies to maintain the efficacy of existing chemistries. By targeting insects with two modes of action in a single application, Endigo has an exceptional fit in a complete cotton insect management program. Endigo is a Restricted Use Pesticide.

Force CS is a new soil-applied insecticide from Syngenta designed to deliver consistent control of corn rootworm and other early-season pests in an advanced, convenient liquid formulation. Force CS is applied through the Central Insecticide System manufactured by John Deere. The application system is fully integrated with the planter, so growers can apply Force CS to their corn acres as needed. The convenience of having the insecticide application equipment integrated allows growers to easily comply with refuge acre management requirements.
